BERBERE print

The Berbere print takes inspiration from the Berber peoples (berbère, in French), an ethnic group of several nations mostly indigenous to North Africa and some northern parts of West Africa. They were the first to open the commercial routes between Western Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. They were responsible for bringing goods from beyond the Sahara desert to Northern African cities. For that, they are always remembered as a nomadic people, though their main activity is sedentary agriculture, which they carry out in mountains and valleys.

Our print gets the idea from a romantic version of those people, imagining a nomadic life across the desert between desolate areas and small traditional buildings. Scarce vegetation and only a few palm trees here and there. An atmosphere wrapped in the night; the sunset's ending, the now purple sky leaves room for the black not yet completely dark. Different sensations mix: solitude, peace, power but also impotence in the face of this uncontaminated nature.

The attitude of this print is enhanced by the brightness of the silk.

It's perfect for evening occasions, it goes very well with the bronze-colored shantung which enhances its elegant palette. During the day it's fun with strong contrasts as with white or on jeans to create an effortlessly chic style.
